Introduction Kiekens Desuperheaters

A desuperheater is a device with the aim to reduce the temperature of an incoming gas, steam or Natural Gas (NG), to a controlled condition, by direct injection of a liquid, water or Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG).

This process should be achieved within the shortest time possible (thus creation of the smallest droplets possible) and by most effective evaporation of the injected liquid (creation of a condition where most effective heat exchange can take place).
